Coins, Toads, and magic spots that give you those crazy arms I was talking to you about. When you do this all sorts of things are revealed. Why do you throw confetti? To cover up not so bottomless pits of course. Something I have entirely way too much fun doing in this game is throwing confetti. Throwing Confetti In Paper Mario: The Origami King I admit the first few times, my heart was pounding and I was very worked up about getting it right. You are not only given a certain number of moves, you are given a time limit to do this. Mess that up and you are going to have a harder time defeating them. You have a certain amount of moves to line your enemies up correctly, so that they can be easily taken out with your weapons. I enjoy it because it is not only a battle, it is a puzzle. One of my favorite parts about this game is the battling system. ![]() ![]() Paper Mario: The Origami King New Battling System You can even pay them coins to help you out! ![]() And once you do, they show up at your battle arena to cheer you on (see photo below). While you are trying to do this along the way there are many hidden and folded up Toads that you have to rescue. For example, sometimes you can grow these crazy arms and you have to move the Switch controllers around to grip items and pull them down or hit them - things like that. The elements of the Nintendo Switch are uniquely brought into the game, which I absolutely love. He doesn’t have to do this alone though, he has the help of an adorable little origami fairy. Mario’s goal is to unravel all the paper streamers that are around the castle, and save Princess Peach. The Princess’ castle has been wrapped up in paper and moved. Mario’s enemies – Goombas, Koopas, Shy Guys, and more have also been turned into origami. Of course, they try to turn Mario too, but he escapes before they can. King Olly has transformed Princess Peach and many of her subjects into origami. In this game we get what I think is a fun and unique plot. I mean, for real, how much fun are Mario games?! And now there are so many variations of them - with Paper Mario being one of my favorites. Nintendo was my first gaming system and I fell in love with Mario when I was a little girl. I let them know that for at least a few hours, one of the Switches was mine. When I got the download code for Paper Mario: The Origami King I put my foot down. Well ever since Animal Crossing came out it has been near impossible to pry the Switches out of my daughters’ hands. The original intent of this was so that the adults could game on one, and the kids could game on the other. ![]() Now, we have two Nintendo Switches in our house. If you are a fan of Mario, Paper Mario, or just gaming in general, I think you will have a lot of fun with this one! I love the plot, I love the new way to battle enemies, and I have way too much fun throwing confetti in the air. Like, it is literally hard to put the Nintendo Switch down to do other things. In battle, line up scattered enemies and plan your attack to maximise damage with the new, ring-based battle system that requires both puzzle-solving skills and a quick wit.Paper Mario: The Origami King is finally available!
